Clay posted this message on CV!
Hey folks.
Please no tweeting of posting on social media until AFTER Meghan makes announcement on the show this morning.
Then feel free... but please only tweet and post the same things that Ruben or I or one of the show social media accounts. We are going you try to drive the same message... Fun, funny, nostalgic, etc... Appealing to fans of Idol back in 2003 who loved the show but didn't follow Ruben or I after the finale. So is not so much about convincing people that I am a great singer or that I am a wonderful entertainer or that you've seen Ruben and I on tour together and we are great and have had so many great albums and or successes. Folks who already agree with one of those statements will hopefully buy on their own just by knowing that the show exists. If folks don't know or believe one it those things already themselves, who cares? We aren't gonna change their minds in five weeks. And trying to convince folks of one of those usually works in the opposite direction anyway.
The big sell right now is the nostalgia. Remembering how much we all loved Idol back in the day and re-living that for a bit the Christmas -- just like networks brought back Will &Grace, Roseanne, Murphy Brown, etc... Broadway is bringing back Ruben & Clay. That's the sell.
To answer the question above...
The first performance is on the 7th. That one and the shows on the 8, 9, and 10th are all considered previews.
Opening night is Tuesday, December 11th.
Tickets for that show are not open to the public. There MIGHT be a few that go on sale to the public in late November, but I'm not expecting that to happen.
The show is dark on the 12th and the rest of the shows are just normal performances when they resume on the 13th.
Just a few minutes away!
Here we go!!
