I see presale tickets are on the 10th but does it say when it's on sale to the general public? I'll be gone then but I'll see where I can go to get tickets.

Well even though they are selling tickets tomorrow during the PBS special pledge drive guess I should try to call to see if tickets are on sale now just in case since others are getting tickets for other concerts. I'll check it out.

Thanks! It might be a gamble but I might have to wait for the presale on the 10th cause I need to save my money for the NY trip. Just hope they will have plenty of seats lefted in a small venue like that.

I just watched the PBS special. *sniff* I love him!!! It was wonderful!!! He said in an interview the next tour will be like the special. Big Band stuff. Can't wait!!!  Just hope I can still get tickets. nervous The Meet and Greet passes sold out already. Couldn't get one. Just didn't have $200 bucks to buy it. :(

They sold that along with the ticket for that price. One concert ticket was $90. The CD was $60. The DVD was $80. The Pledge drive they were promoting him very well and saw Clay speak a few times. Very well done!!!

Talking to sisters in the front row- he said they look like twins. And the lights are shining on them and they are blonde so they stand out- Leslie and Nancy.

Asked them if they requested those seats- they said no they stole them!!

Asked who was shining a flashlight on them.

He feels like he is physically and mentally close to the audience.

This is a college lecture hall. Its like inside the actors studio. He may sit there all night. May do BMUB from there.

He's really comfy.

He is talking about Invisible. He said just because we are close doesnt mean this is Oprah. If it was a lecture hall they would get a bad grade in class participation.

Going for the Jazzy Medley.

He said he messed up the words on SAAU- he was thinking how the sound guy was having a hard time with Clay because he was standing in front of the speakers and Jake was trying to alleviate any squeals from the mics.

Quiana came on stage- Foggy Day- Dont care for this- going to get soup!

Also some lady is 94 today- he said Holy Crap!!

Asked her what music she listened to. People were interrupting-he said until you are 94 dont answer. He asked her who was president in 1917-Woodrow Wilson

He is talking about a yoshi blade he got today. He doesnt cook just wanted to cut an apple- they sell them at Best Buy. Its a white yoshi blade- made out of ceramic.
If someone came up and tried to mug him he would say "Get out of my face"
But it is sharp and it will CUT you

he said his friend Erin is in the audience- who he went to school with. She's in the book.

He said that someone at home is typing -He's talking to Erin (who is in Chapter 9). THen he asked if he got the chapter right because some would know that.

He is talking to Jessica who stalks him in a disturbing way. She has her mom on the phone. Of course we know who that is- and she was yelling out.

comments from the CH

He's asking why a lady in the audience has a tiara on. She said today is her 13th birthday. Clay told her she's almost as old as his guitar player.

Now he's found a lady who's 94 years old. I'm no good with math so that means you were born in.......the lady said 1917. He asked her who was on the radio back then. She said Bing Crosby.

He said after the show he wants a photo with both of them.....the 13 year old and the 94 year old........awwwww.

Autotune song is the BEP......I've Got a Feeling.

Quiana just told him he could have done the Super Bowl and he responded, "And I could have ripped your top off."

WSN done as Motown, acoustic, acapella and ragtime.

from CV

I spoke briefly with farouche - she has a long ride home.

Hair a little more spiked but he still looked great - with maroon sweater.

He was in a great mood - sat on the edge of the stage a lot! She was third row dead center.

No spotlight on Clay - all show - so pictures might not come out well.

Spotlight early on two in the audience.

Was a very full house.

Thanks for another cellcert.  This tour is moving along so quickly.

Whenever a tour is over, it feels "lonely" for his fans.  Now, we are hearing so much about what he is doing and saying and singing!

AND loads of Clay- friends are getting together to hug and laugh and talk and to THUD!!  Life is good!

Which Maniacs are going to Charlotte??

Meet you here again tomorrow night!!

HOSAA

I had a great time. There is a lot to be said for lowering expectations. The M&G was late because whoever was supposed to be organizing us didn't show up on time. The OFC and VIP people went in first, so I had time to get a drink of water. Our PBS M&G had about 30 or 40 people, and it was a lot of semi NJUs - people who had been to a few of Clay's concerts before but never had a M&G. One of the men I talked to, who was sending his wife and sister into the M&G, kept joking that he better not catch them climbing onto the bus with Clay!!

So the Meet & Moo (tm claygalsal) was just that. I was near the front of the line, and Clay was very cute in asking Mary where the photographer was, where he should stand, where to sign the things, etc. He did a little dance, moving side to side. Hee!

With my turn, I just handed the usher my coat and purse, then handed Clay my item to sign. I had to give Mary my gift for Clay, and she put it down under the table!!  So I tried to tell Clay about my gift, but by then Jerome was Jeroming me.  But Clay called out to me, Where did they put it? Okay! Thank you!"

Clay Aiken is really really really really (times infinity) sweet.

The lighting and sound issues made for an interesting evening. I got clack of the "chosen blondes" in the middle of the audience who inexplicably had a spotlight shining on them. The monitors were in the middle of the stage, so if Clay stood behind them, the front row wouldn't be able to see him at all. So he stood in front of them. During "Build Me Up Buttercup," Clay turned to Quiana (I think) and seemed to mouth "I can't hear you."

I think all the issues just made Clay cut loose. He was adorable and yummy in plum. And very clean shaven.

And yes, that was me yelling "Ragtime." I was a couple of rows behind the lady who was born in 1917. I thought it fit.

Great cellcert Marilyn. Glad you and Philly could listen to it so clear.

Just got back a half hour ago. OMG! Clay was wonderful, amazing, so funny and so adorable. Had a great seat on the 3rd row all the way to the right side. Could see him close real good. He looked so gorgeous but didn't even think about he was clean shaven this time. LOL Had kindof a rooster hair though. Wearing purple is a good color on him. There was 2 empty seats in the 1st few rows in front of me. If I moved to the 1st row I would had looked up. The venue was very small. Clay really liked that he was close to us and said he felt like He was at Inside THe Actors Studio. So the rows were just A though W. It looked pretty full to me but the last few rows. I got to see Gwenn and Jill quickly after the concert just to say hello. They were 4 rows back from me. They loved it too. It didn't start til close to 7:50. Seemed like he sat for most of the songs this time then the past concerts. The lucky people to the left got to see him sing a few songs sitting on the edge of the stage. Hopefully Scarlett got him really up close to where she was on camera. During the Whose Sorry Now Bit he asked Quiana to sit next to him. She was afriad too cause of her shoes but she did anyway. She was in a happy mood tonight. She sounded really great too. Crying was just beautiful with them together. I could watch his face watching her. So sweet. It was hilarious when they talked about THe Superbowl after singing I Got A Feeling in the autotune bit that he said he what he would do to her what happened with Janet Jackson. LOL I'm sooooo glad he changed up the jazzy melody just to sing own songs. It works. It's really good. Him singing Whose Sorry Now in Motown, acoustic, acapella and ragtime was really good too. Love to hear him do an acoustic CD some day. Love Story, UM and BOth Sides Now was amazingly beautiful with his singing. His voice was so freaking perfect. I was amazed. Really was the best he ever sounded. Him talking about this knife he brought was so random. LOL Him and the band were talking about what they did on their day off yesterday. Was funny he was excited to get it. Never seen the commercial for that. He was amazed and really interested in the 94 year old woman. Totally cool. The 13 year old was with one of the MCV girls. He called her Jess a stalker. HAHA The spotllght on the 2 women in the audience was funny too. He was right they looked like twins. Oh Also glad he called out on the flashes. They should know better. Got better later. In My Life to the fans almosted made me cry. Loved the way he put his mic down and sang without it at the very end. He really loves us. Really wish I was going to another concert. Just have to relive this one in my head for a while and thank god for the clack but there is nothing like seeing him live. He really is the best ever!!!! You gals will love it and are in for a treat.

Was this too long? LOL

Bring over Gwenn's recap.

Afternoon folks.  Finally home.

Tiffany--nice to see you also.

I am not a recap person.  But some thoughts.  The venue was about 85-90% full.  Not right away which was odd   I think the weather delayed some.  Clay looked amazing.  It was hard to concentrate on the music.  His cheekbones were killers.  I think his fingers have grown.   . Skin, lips, thighs.  You get the picture.

The lighting sucked but I didn't care.  He did.  Q doesn't come on until the show is about 1/3 into it.  She continues to have an incredible voice.

I so wish Love Story had been included in the cd.  It is gorgeous and for those of us who saw the movie and / or read the book back in the day, it evoked lots of emotion.  Jill loved it without those memories.  It is so beautifully sung.

What I left with is this --- there were almost 1000 people in the venue but Clay made me feel like I was in his livingroom.  Very intimate feel.  (oh to be intimate but I digress...). That is a skill in itself.  Second, he is genuinely grateful for the support we have given him.  Third, he is so comfortable on a stage.  Fourth, his voice is rich.

The 2 hours flew.

One criticism---the medley of his past 8 years should be sung in their original form.  Singing them big band style didn't work for me.  Sounded weird.  The tug looked weird in that context.

He so obviously read the blog responses and used all of the suggestions.  I personally appreciate that.

I needed his voice and personality to  wash over me.  It did and I am very happy I get to hear and see again on Sunday.  There's something bout the way........

Gwenn

Nice to see you too Gwenn and so glad you enjoyed it.

chasandpeg

Just got home from work and haven't had a chance to post about last night's concert before now. This is my first attempt at posting after a show. It was total perfection from beginning to end. Clay's voice was so powerful and tender. His range is unbelievable and he is so down to earth, friendly and comfortable on stage. He is born to entertain. I took four co-workers with me that were not die hard fans, but had liked him. After the show they just couldn't say enough great things. One friend said, he just needs to have his own talk show, he just knows the right things to say and he is so funny. I thought that was so great because that's what we all think and of course that's one of Clay's dreams. Even today at work they were still raving about how fantastic the show was and they were telling others how wonderful he was. I think we might have some new fans. I done know how anyone that sees him wouldn't feel the same way.
I also had the PBS M&G. I was so nervous, but Clay is so warm and nice. I had taken a book my kindergarten children had made about how they could make the world a better place. We made it because I have four inclusion children that loved his song I Believe We Can. They would always hold their hands over their ears whenever I put on any music, but when I played that song, two of my autistic twins stood up and started dancing and singing. They knew every word. They said to me, can you believe a cartoon character can sing so good? Anyway, I gave it to Mary to give to him later and she saw it and said to Clay, "Peggy has a gift for you. I want her to tell you about it and then I'll take it for you after." I think I stuttered over my words and I don't really know what I said. I just was looking into his eyes and lost all rational coherent thoughts. I wasn't expecting to tell him about it. He said thank you so much and then autographed my Clay bag and then moved me to his other side for the picture. I remember putting my arm around him and feeling his around me and thinking he was so cuddly and warm. I did lean in and I probably had a huge goofy smile on my face. He looked so good. Very smooth beautiful skin and clean shaven. Now I just have to find out how to get the M&G pictures. They never told us what to do to get the pictures. They were unorganized as others have said.
I had also bought other tickets from ticketmaster because I was afraid the seats from PBS would not be good if and when I received them. So I ended up sitting in row D right in the middle. It was so close and such a intimate concert. I did take some pictures and some video but I am not good at technology at all and I have no idea how to post them. I don't think they are nearly as good as most of the others posted here.
Clay keeps saying how much he loves to tour, so I'm hopeful that he will continue to tour for many years to come. I know I'll be there whenever he does. I have one more show in Glenside. But I really want to find a way to go to more shows. I guess it's a total Clay addiction!

Clay sure sounded 'purdy' singing without accompaniment; and, Quianna was on her game. *g*

Since my memory is crap, I won't be writing recaps but as I remember stuff, I'll post some of what I remember. I went to the Pittsburgh and Cleveland shows last weekend, Towson on Tuesday, and Westbury and Philly this past weekend. First want to say thank yous to all my Clay buds that I hung out with: Allclaylong, Canfly, Scarlett, Sparky, Weak4clay, and YYG. I had the best time. And I met so many other Clay fans that post here and at other boards that I have seen many times over the years.

The Towson show may have been my favorite because I took my daughter and I sat next to a couple who hadn't kept up with Clay. She loved him but had only seen him on TV. He said he sang well enough but he was more a fan of Kelly, Carrie, and Adam (I think a lot of his feelings were more about the fake image of Clay that some people have). I think he came because the show was for 50's and 60's music, which he liked. During the show he kept saying how much he liked how Clay was doing this or that song and was laughing and commenting on Clay's banter. He even raised his hand during the "Who's Sorry Now" bit and Clay called on him but he suggested something already done so I told him to check out youtube. After Clay sang UM, he said he had never heard that version before and how impressed he was. He was kind of booking to get out of there after though so didn't get a chance to talk more but as I passed his wife, she said she loved it and wanted to go to another one. I told her about Philly but she said she didn't think she could push her husband that much. I did tell her to check out some of the Clay boards and she could find out more about what he's been doing. My daughter enjoyed the show and loved "In My Life" but hated that some woman kept calling out "We love you more". Another reason that I liked this show a lot was because so much was going wrong and Clay was playing it up for all it was worth. Joked about the lighting guy several times and said his sound guy would probably quit after the show because of all the work involved since Clay would go back in front of and behind the amps so the sound guy had to adjust stuff so the mic wouldn't squeal.

In fact, I've enjoyed all the recaps, but I don't often post my appreciation. I never did post a recap from my M&G and concert in Towson last week. Think I'm still in the fog. Someone did ask him a question about any Unicef plans and I think he said that there has been some talk but nothing that he was going to be doing anytime soon. At that point I was trying to figure out how to get a word in edgewise to ask a question (I never did get to ask anything) and I missed what he said.

A sort of interesting little tidbit. Someone asked him if he realized what a big splash he made when he made the appearance on AI5 with the new hair. He said he didn't think he made any big splash and that the whole thing was just "stupid." She also asked if he still had that suit. He said "was it purple?" and she said no she thought it was brown. He said he didn't remember which one it was but he likely didn't have it anymore because it probably wouldn't fit him now. Someone else said that was the best hair ever and he wanted to know why everybody was always talkin' about his hair.

Just as I was about to ask my question, he started reading off the order for the picture taking and I got shut out. Next time (which there probably won't ever be) I'll have to be rude and interrupt in order to be able to actually talk to him.

After the picture I said, "Thank you, Clay" and he said, "no, thank you." Awwwww

My DH attended the concert with me and really enjoyed it. The lighting was an issue, but the bit with the 2 sisters in the spotlight was comedy gold. Unfortunately, the woman who was yelling out during In My Life was sitting in the row behind us. Between her and the 2 young girls chatting it up during "Both Sides Now" I was a bit annoyed. I turned around and gave the girls a "look" and they shut up.

I wish we could have gone to a 2nd show. Probably should have gone to Glenside as it was only about a 2 hour drive, but $$ and time were not on our side for that. So I'll treasure the M&G and the fact I at least got to go to 1 show that was local.

Thanks to Johanna that posted it in the CM thread. This video is the 94 year old lady at this concert Clay was interesting in talking to that night and also the 13 year old is sitting on the other side of Clay. He's really sweet to this woman. It's wonderful that he told her next time he's touring around Baltimore again she'll get a ticket to see him for free. Hope she can be around still then when it happens. Anyway, this video is so sweet. A Must Watch.
