My M&G... you've probably seen details from others who had them, and I will recap it in much more detail when I get home late tomorrow night or Tuesday... but I will say this: Clay was gorgeous and -- I wouldn't say he had an aura about him, but what I did get from him is that he is such a regular guy. He was sweet and charming. I know I was shaking something awful after I got my picture with him... I don't remember feeling his arm around me, but I am told he definitely had it there. I know I snuggled into him and ohhh, was that nice. Did I say thank you after my pic? Anyone here, can you answer that? Okay, so I said a little. I will say THIS: 2.5 years ago, when he came out on the cover of People, I was very upset and almost walked away. 2.5 years ago less about 2 days ago, I decided that I shouldn't walk away because he still had the same voice, talent, compassion, and heart he did before his announcement. After last night, I know now, more than ever, that I'm not leaving. Clay's stuck with me.  There is an anime drawing that I think is perfect to post here, but I can't do that till I get home. It is two people, with their huge eyes as they are in anime, hugging, with the words, "I could never let you go."

and I always will. Even though he has me pulling out my hair in frustration sometimes, still,  .

Oh, the concert? Fantastic. And I got pictures. Pictures that I think are actually good enough to post. >=) Those will go up this week. No, I wasn't a blubbering, weeping mess... but I know that I am gona miss Clay bigtime... yet I'm anticipating what he does next.

More to follow in a day or two, when I have time to write a REAL recap.

Here's my San Fran Concert Recap:

Me and my friend BigClayFan4Eva from the OFC stayed the weekend together. On the day of the concert my friend was getting excited for her M&G and I was getting excited too for her M&G. Well as it was time to get ready to go to the dinner before the concert with all of the other fans. As we were done getting ready we walked to the dinner and we didn't stay very long since my friend had a M&G to go to, but I did get to say hi to everyone I wanted to there and it was so nice to see some I have meet before and to also meet new ones. Before we left the dinner to go to the venue I got handed 2 things of glow sticks to hand out. I was happy and willing to help pass them out, since I wanted to help out in some way. Well as we walked and go to the venue we went to the ticket booth and my friend tells them she is there for the M&G and they said made her show her ID and then one of the security guards said wait outside and I will contact Jerome about it, but he contacted Jerome 3 times about it and nothing was happening and then we went inside and the same security guard said I will let them know again, but nothing happened and he came back with bad new. He came back and said the M&G has already happened. Once we both found that out we were so mad and told him that is not fair, but he couldn't do anything about it, but she said she is going to contact Vanessa at the OFC about the mix up about her M&G and all that happened and she what can be done about it.

After the M&G mess we then started to hand out the glow sticks to everyone. then after awhile we went to find our seats. To my surprise we had 3rd row seat just like I imagined it.So we got our seats and I couldn't believe that we were so close to the stage. I was so happy and then we still didn't give all of the glow sticks away and a few minutes later I was handed more glow sticks from Sue since she was sitting right in front of me at the concert and I was like "We don't need anymore glow sticks, we already have a lot left still." After I said that we just sat and waited for our concert to start. Once the concert started I was so excited and once the curtains opened me and everyone busted up laughing cause Jerome was lip syncing Where Do I Begin, and then after 2 minutes here comes Clay out singing. I loved that song it was so awesome. I really enjoyed all of the songs he sang, but my most favorite parts of the concert were the Auto-Tune, Who's Sorry Now, Cellphone Banter and "In My Life". The reason I liked the Auto- Tune part was because when Clay asked us who do we listen to on the radio, my friend shouts out The Jonas Brothers and Clay says The Jonas Brothers, which was super funny and I loved that he did Katy Perry California Girls. That was really funny too. Now the reason I loved the Who's Sorry Now bit was because I suggested Sesame Street as one of the music styles and Quiana said Sesame Street and she laugh and so did Clay and he liked that idea. They were so funny when they went to do it, I was laughing so hard. Also I loved when they went to do Bollywood me and my friend shouted out "you already done it" and Clay outed us out for saying that, which was super funny and we were both busting up laughing. The rest of the Who's Sorry Now styles were super funny to. The reason I love the cellphone banter is that he points out Scarlett and then when as he was about done talking about cellphone, me and the lady that was sitting next to me start to hold up our phones and Clay looks at us and says "don't be holding your phones up to try to get attention." That was so funny and I was laughing so hard. I did that on purpose just to see what he would say and he outed me out for it. Then for "In My Life" I so loved it because of the glow sticks and because I could tell that it really touched him as he was singing. I could tell he was in tears some and choked up as he was leaving the stage afterwords. So the glow sticks worked perfect last night.

After the concert me, my friend and Christy47 and her mom all walked to the bus line that was around the corner. I got to talk to Christy47 before walking to the bus line and I asked her about her M&G and everything. I was so happy for her and her M&G last night. Once we decided to walk to the bus line, it was super crowded and after awhile the security guard there orders us to get off the street and on the side walk. So once that was said I squeezed in front with someone I knew, since she let me stand with her while we wait for Clay, but then I was bummed about my friend because he texted me to let me know she got pushed to the back, which was uncool. Next thing I know I see Nickikiwi and canfly172 and I wave at them so I could talk to them for a moment, since I know them and then all of a sudden I see Scarlett and I finally got to meet her, which was awesome. Then while I was standing and waiting, the same security guard comes over and with 2 set lists of Clay's that were tapped on the stage before the concert and guess what, I was one of the lucky ones to get one of the set lists. So I decided after I got it to have Clay sign it since I lift my Timeless Tour Reno concert scrapbook back at my hotel cause I was originally going to have Clay sign that, but I didn't have it on me. Anyways, while everyone was waiting for Clay to come out, Adam decided to come out and I ended up getting his autograph which was cool. Then he goes back on the bus. After waiting a little bit longer Jerome comes out and people are trying to say things to him and then he goes on the bus. Shortly after that here comes Clay and I couldn't believe it. As Clay came to the line he started to autograph things for people. When he came up to me, he looked me in the eyes and I looked him in the eye and he said "oh someone stole it" since I he was signing his own set list, so he kinda joked to me about and I kind got to meet Clay at for just that one minute. It was so awesome and I was shacking after he spoke to me. I couldn't believe what just had happen. I will never forget that moment. Once I had Clay sign that I ended up seeing Quiana and I also got her autograph too, it was awesome. Then I watched Clay, Quiana and the band all leave before leaving back to the hotel. Once we got back to the hotel I was in a Aiken fog so I didn't go to sleep until real late and the next day I was sad while I was getting ready to leave, since I didn't want this perfect weekend to end. I really hope we can all do it again soon, it was a blast and my first time on a trip alone with a friend, so it was even extra special. My friend had a blast too with me this weekend, so I am happy and hope to see her again soon.I ended up getting home safe and sound early in the evening today with a bunch of left over glow sticks that I couldn't get handed out. lol

I have lots of pics I took and some video I took. I know it's going to taking a little while, so I will post those when I can.

I'm back from my 'Clayventure' and I've spent a portion of the day basking in the fabulous afterglow.

My entire road trip was splendid and the travel gods were good to me.  I left home at 3:30 am on Friday and drove to Santa Clarita to my cousin's place. We took off from there at about 5:30 and made it through the grapevine shortly after sun up...good thing, because it fogged in, and commuters had to have police escorts to get through that area. We stopped at our usual resting point, Harris Ranch for a break and breakfast, and then drove on to Gilroy...home of garlic...delicious aroma...took a bit of a break there too...and made it to my brother's place in Los Altos by noon.  The sun was out, about 70 degrees...terrific weather.  After a delicious tortilla soup lunch, we stopped in a nail salon to spiff up for Clay... :happygirl: By then, my brother and SIL were off work and we spent the night visiting.

Next day, we head over to Berkeley to enjoy a perfect feast at
Chez Panisse Cafe...of Alice Waters fame.  My brother, bless his soul, chatted about the restoration of the Oakland bridge (or the other one) from a prior quake as we traversed it...I asked if we could make it to the other side, before he analyzed it's quake safety features for us.   :th_nails:

After our late lunch in Berkeley, we traveled back to SF and located the Warfield...not a wonderful part of town...glad my tall brother was with us! Found some parking and caught a cab to the Top of the Mark, to meet another cousin for a drink.  What an elegant hotel (Mark Hopkins) and it was such a clear afternoon, we were able to enjoy the view for miles.

Next, we were dropped back off to the theater and in moments were allowed in.  While my center seats, were indeed over to the side...they weren't too far over due to the intimate seating.  Shortly after I got settled, the security guard stationed in front, called out my real name.  I thought how'd he know that? lol...and then he directed me to where Shirl was seated.  It was a real pleasure meeting you, Clay friend.  I'm glad they gave you a great spot to hear Clay...just a few rows behind me.

Others have recapped the concert in substantial detail, so I'll just highlight portions of it.  Of course, I must first state that Clay looked mighty fine and was in great voice.  Sure enough, he counted the men in the audience and chatted with my brother.  Now, I'm known to be ahem, a bit verbose...lol, my brother is too...perhaps more so.  So when Clay asked him who he was with...not only did he state he was with his wife, cousin and sister, he also gave Clay my user and actual name!!  Clay seemed to enjoy that...and my brother seemed proud of himself...lol!  (I valiantly tried not give my family too many spoilers...but Mike did hear that Clay might speak with him...).

Later when Clay was leading into the auto tune segment, he mentioned his psuedo enjoyment of Miley's voice...'Miley's a good singer' and even though I knew where he was going with it...Clay caught the expression on my face and said something like...'oh, you don't like her'...and I shook my head no and started laughing.

In no time at all, Clay was singing UM and it was fantastic to hear him perform his version live, just a few feet from me.

It was a really special concert for me on several levels.  My brother is a musician (used to sing with his own band) and has been really understanding about my love for Clay.  Afterwards, he had several thoughts...he completely understood what I appreciate in him...what was most new to him was how affable Clay is...how at ease he is with the audience, his comedic timing...quick wit.  He was off and running thinking of the possibilities for Clay's future, in particular, comedic roles as an actor...mentioning how Steve Martin's career has broadened from stand up to movies, ...(Mike just saw Steve perform on his banjo recently...said Steve sings well enough...).

Sunday, my cousin and I hit the road to drive back home.  We stopped again at our favorite break spots...Gilroy and Harris Ranch.  This time I picked up another souvenir giraffe (as if I didn't have enough of them!

And now, I eagerly anticipate what's in store for our dear singerman...I'll go on record...Broadway, or some on-going show...or??? a new baby!  ...it all works for me!  He's quite happy...something is in the offing...I'm sure of it!
Clay's jois de vivre gladdens my heart;
his spiritual consciousness and musical gifts bring  harmony to my soul.

What is beautiful is a joy for all seasons...

Johanna,

What a wonderful trip you had!  I really enjoyed reading about your travels to the concert and the time with your family.  So glad you also got to meet Shirl.  Maybe your brother should become Clay's manager!

I enjoyed your recap, Johanna! Loved reading your brother's thoughts about Clay - I really love going with/sitting next to someone who has not gotten to see Clay in person before - they always get a wake up call on what they have been misssing!

Hi everyone, I am not caught up at all, but decided to post a somewhat of a recap and then go back and read about a hundred pages.

We got home from San Francisco about 2 hours ago. Finally!!! We spent all day yesterday in the airport. We were supposed to be on an 8:30am flight Monday morning, but our flight was delayed by fog. Finally, about 5pm, they canceled it. We eventually got on a plane to DFW and spent the night there. We got to a motel around midnight and had to get up at 6am, to be ready for the shuttle back to the airport at 6:50am. I am beyond tired, but it was all worth it. I went with my 2 daughters and grandson and we had a wonderful time visiting with my granddaughter, Mary. Her and her cute hubby met us at the airport and we had fun seeing the sights in San Francisco and then drove back to her house at Travis AFB about 45 minutes away. The next night, we left the guys there and my daughters and Mary made a very adventurous trip back to SF for the concert. We had intended to leave the car at the BART station in the little town, just off base, but it was unattended and scary looking people were asking us for money. We talked to a nice looking couple and they told us to not even consider coming back there late at night, so we drove instead. The problem is, we did not make a back up plan and we only had a vague idea where the venue was and we also had to find a parking garage. SF is almost as bad as driving in NY and their streets are laid out really weird. After many wrong turns, we found a garage, that turned out to be much farther from the venue than we had wanted to be. It was not a very nice part of town, to say the least. It was very scary walking back after the show. We finally found the venue after getting directions from some scary looking guys on the street. We were so glad when we saw the line outside waiting to get in. That marquee with Clay's name looked beautiful. The first people we talked to were from the Clay Board and they were handing out glow sticks to every one who didn't have one. It was so much fun walking along the line and finding people I knew from different boards. When we got in the theater, we found that out first row mezz seats were great. The concert was unbelievably wonderful. The venue was almost full and the crowd was very enthusiastic. There were more men than I have ever seen at a Clay concert. It had to be at least 30 percent. He was in great voice and so funny, charming and wonderful. I am so thankful that we were able to be there. Looking down at all of those glow sticks was beautiful. They were all waving, we love you, Clay. It had to be a heart warming sight for him.

I miss him so much already and hope we hear some exciting news real soon.
