I'm going to Biloxi! My friend Millie and I just got our tickets. Yeah , that's two shows for me!
-
Thats great Joanne!! And its a last show so it will be special!!
-
JoAnn - I am going to this show too and I thought Frankie was too?
-
Hello! I am going to Biloxi, and I've been told that Karen from the Red Thong will also be there. Diane from New Orleans (non-posting member aikenangel) will also be there with several members of the Louisiana Fan Club. (Diane is our member whose home was flooded during Katrina - we couldn't even locate her for a couple of weeks). I so hope that we can all meet for at least a few minutes. We are not staying at the casino, but are staying across the street. I believe that JoAnn and her friend are staying just five minutes away from the casino. We will be driving in the morning of the concert.
Lori - If you need someone to hold you up while you wait for your Meet and Greet, I volunteer! I would never have made it in Atlanta if I had not had members of this Board with me!!! ;D
-
I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I LEAVE 9 DAYS FROM TODAY FOR BILOXI! ;D Millie and I are staying at the Holiday Inn. It's on the same street, just a few blocks from the casino. We plan to be at Beau Rivage a lot of the time though. We all need to meet up at some time.
-
JoAnn, Marlene and I will be in Biloxi for this show. We are staying across the street but would love to meet up with everybody some time.
Everyone cross their fingers for all of us that the Tropical Depression will get out of the area so the planes will be on schedule.
-
Marilyn - I forgot to say thank you for the interior photos of the theatre (they are going in my concert scrapbook!) - looks as if there is not a bad seat in the house! I just saw the weather - although the storm did not devlop into a tropical storm, flash flood warnings are predicted for both New Orleans and Biloxi (both are below sea level). If anyone is driving, be careful out there! I plan to call our hotel either Friday night or Saturday morning to check on weather conditions - if there is flooding I would at least like to know ahead of time. The Beau Rivage was one of the hotels that had to be completely rebuilt after Katrina.
-
Last cellcert tonight of the Timeless Tour. Can't believe it's going to be over already after tonight. :( Flew by so fast. We will start it at 9 tonight.
Frankie, JoAnn, Marlene, Barbara and Lori. Have fun tonight! Lori-Have the time of your life at your Meet and Greet. ;D
-
I am glad to see some Claymaniacs representing at the last concert. Hope more of you will join here to listen to the cellcert.
I am excited to be here tonight. I am going to listen on the cellstream and bring over anything I hear, plus whatever CV posts. I think there may be some changes or extra's tonight, maybe even some shenanigans. I will start it as soon as I get some info.
I am disappointed it is ending-it was a fun joyful and energetic concert.
-
Happy a lot of Claymaniacs will be there too. I want to go to a last concert of a tour someday. Yeah! It's going to be bittersweet I'm sure. Hope they can pull some pranks or something on each other tonight. LOL I'm sure it will be a lot of fun and very special.

QUOTE (jclay @ Aug 14 2010, 06:42 AM)
Good morning all!!!
From the Beau Rivage in Biloxi.
Wish y'all were here.
When we were at the box office last night picking up our tickets there was a young lady there (a NJU).
She'd had a very stressful week and was hoping this concert might help pick her up.
Needless to say we proceeded to tell her how much it would help.
The hotel lady that checked us in said she had wanted tickets but waited too long and now it was sold out.
I'm stoked.

QUOTE (ClayCounty @ Aug 14 2010, 09:22 AM)
Good morning,
I have a friend who lives in Biloxi, a teacher, who was suppose to have comp tickets to the concert tonight. However, she is now being told that it is sold-out and she might not have tickets. I sure do hope it is "sold out" even though she might not have tickets. I have told her to go at all cost as she will have a great time.
I had a great lunch yesterday with UndertheSpell and my talkative two GS's age 8 and 5. She was great listening to them go on and on. I later went to the 5 year old's very first soccer game after two practices. They are so cute at that age playing horde ball.
Everyone have a great day.
-
Heard from Jclay. The buses didn't arrive until 5:30 Central time (6:30 EST) so show might be starting late. The M&G was rushed because they got in so late.
If I hear more I will let you know.

I think the concert will start late- no notices yet that it has started.

-
More Then A Feeling
Last time he'll sing it. :( Hope he can do it again somewhere. Totally rocks this song!
This is my favorite of all songs in this show- too short
-
Talking about variety shows ... get to the Peaches and Herb line and get a good laugh ... realizes they could embrace the variety show idea and Clay mentions its their last stop on this tour, but they would like to continue to do it and have thought and thought, what they really are missing is a theme song, like Donny and Marie, Clay says he can talk a lot, doesn't know if they have noticed that. Is challenging Ruben to do a theme song ... says what he needs from the audience is a theme song for the Ruben and Clay show ... says not Ebony and Ivory .. talking to audience members ... sounds like some funny audience exchanges ... someone shouts out spaghetti and meatballs ...
Ruben wants to know which one is spaghetti and which one meatballs. Now trying to decide on style of music ... go with opera!
-
Mandy
-
CH says Clay said he's more Fettucini now.
Tonight's song will be spaghetti and meatballs the opera.......BWAH!

-

-
He's wrapped in swaddling clothes again. Ruben says to him so your mama says you can't dance. Not at all, he asks? Sings a little Amazing Grace. Can't hear Clay if he's saying anything. "How Sweet the Sound" from Amazing Grace. Tell Pastor what's wrong with you. "Pastor....Pastor...." He has lackofrhtymitic! pastor says he's never seen a case like that there.
-
Clay is dancing- he has been healed!!
-

Hey Marilyn- Do you know of anyone that had made DVD's of the concert yet? I'm looking for one and Tammy told me Linda wants one too.
Its a little early yet. When the concerts are over, the folks that do that will have to gather all the clack. Not all of it has been uploaded yet as some of the videographers are going to multiple concerts. We will have to be a bit patient but it will be done!!

If Clay wasn't gay we would be shipping Clay and Casey BIG time. LOL
-
caper id taking to txwriter about her M&G/ it was in a stairwell that was so dark Jer had to use a flashlight so Clay could sign stuff. Clay didn't like MTAF because he had to be kicked in the crotch to hit the notes.
Clay said he's gonna spend his time until the TNT concerts in a cave in an undisclosed location.
-
Well Clay don't forgot the Gala and the Chicago concert is coming up too in Oct. ;D I do hope he can get the rest he needs.
-
I guess Clay gave Scarlett the press pass cause of probably what happened in Jacksonville.

Clay said the next tour will be longer than the Raleigh concert, with more songs and talking.

Jerome took Scarlett back stage in Clearwater just before the show and it had been made clear to venue security that night that video was permitted. I heard venue security talking just before the show.

Hi Everyone
A had a very interesting weekend to say the least in trying to get to Biloxi to see the final show.
It all started about 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning when the phone rang and after ignoring it twice, I got a message from American Airlines (not a good thing when you have an 8:00 a.m. flight that morning) saying that our flight was going to be delayed Saturday morning so we would not be able to make our connection to Biloxi. I called the number they left and about a half hour later, we had a new flight to DFW with a connection to Biloxi. I went back to bed, tossed and turned and never went back to sleep. The end result is that we arrived at our hotel at 5:30 p.m. (I think I saw Clay's bus turn into the Beau Rivage when we passed there). We got ready and went over to the casino and things when uphill from there.
As we were walking in we saw JoAnn and her friend, Millie. They had already eaten so we got a quick bite and headed to the Theater. This was the third show I had seen this summer, and while all of them were a little different, what made this one special is the Venue. Not a huge venue but beautiful. Our seats were not the best in the house but they were perfect for me. The floor is sloped enough that someone sitting in front of you was in no way going to block your view. Also the whole stage was visible (side and back where the musicians were) and all performers were visible at all times. They also had two large jumbotrons if you wanted a real close up). I had read that they show might be restricted to 90 minutes but that was definitely not the case. We got the complete show in all its glory. The acoustics were wonderful and the lighting rivaled the lighting at the PBS taping. First class venue all the way and, while it may not be real convenient for a lot of us to get to, I would go back in a minute.
The show was changed a little--I had not seen the "introduction" before (shades of Spamalot opening). There were other little changes but the main show was still wonderful. It was said that Clay appeared to be a little tearful at the opening but I couldn't see it. His voice was still hoarse, but his singing voice was still so clear and good. The show has been reviewed so many times over the last three+ weeks that there isn't much I can add. I loved this show, saw it three times, and would go again if given the opportunity. Clay and Ruben are obviously very good friends and have respect for one another. Whoever (and I suspect it was Clay) that wrote or helped create some of the comedy skits, did a super job. Clay poked fun at himself but, in my opinion, not only added laughs to the show, but defused a lot of potential negative comments that could have been written about him. They reminded me a lot of Martin (Ruben) & Lewis (Clay) who can remember that far back. They are great together and I hope they consider performing more together in the future (and I did not think I would feel this way when the tour started).
If you have not seen the You Tube or clip of last night's "Spaghetti & Meatball" theme song--go find it and listen to Ruben sing opera. Very good job.
IMO the show Saturday night was spectacular--as were many others on the tour--and I am sorry it is over. Hopefully this may be another feather in Clay's hat (like Spamalot) and keep him around for a long, long time.
After the show JoAnn, Millie, Frankie and her husband, Marlene and I went to a coffee shop at the Casino. It was nice renewing friendships with old friends and making new ones. All in all, it was a very short trip but a very good one.
We got up at 4:00 this morning (neither of us felt real good) to catch a 6:00 flight out of Biloxi so when I got home about noon, I went to bed and now I feel almost human again. But I would gladly do it over again to see this tour.
-
Thanks so much for the review, Barb- glad you had a great time!
-
Barbara-So happy for you you went to the last concert and enjoyed it. Would love to do that. It did sound very special. We will surely have some great memories from these concerts. ;D Glad you got to see everyone that went from here too after the show and spent some time with them. :)
Saw your message to us at CM. You are welcome. Thanks for reading here everynight. We just weren't sure who has. I know I read all the recaps, Meet and Greets, pics and such that Marilyn posted and enjoyed every min of them. Maybe when the cellcerts starts up again for the Tried and True tour we can have them in Clay Daily so more people can find it and join in. Just a suggestion.
