I even booked a spa suite. Do you think that Clay's suite might be right there too? :o Not! They listed some suites "by invitation only"! So, I don't stand a chance of seeing him around my suite.

Joann,My daughter and I are going to Reno. We should be able to meet at some point. I am staying at another Hotel because mu daughter does not like the Silver Legacy. Since she is indulging me by going I booked where she wanted to go. I'll Pm you when it gets closer.

Wow!!! JoAnn just won the charity auction Meet and Greet in Reno. Congrats!!! So happy for her. She deserves it! Gets to meet Ruben too and have a backstage tour. Pretty niffy! 4 more days. Can't wait to hear about it!

Good Afternoon!
JoAnn just called from Reno. (Two hour time difference.) There are no computers in the lobby so she asked me to post for her. The Silver Legacy is an older hotel/casino but nice.
She left yesterday morning and with her extra miles was able to fly first class to Reno. She said they were served a nice breakfast on the plane. She took a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. She has a very nice corner room with views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains from both sets of windows. The room has a 42" flat screen TV on the wall, mini frig, king side bed, two setting areas, a spa tub, and a huge 5' by 5' shower.
She does have coffee in her room but some of the rooms do not have coffee.
Sandy, (who we both know from Grand Prairie), was on her plane and is staying at the hotel. JoAnn, Sandy, and two others had lunch at their hotel yesterday and did some walking around. The Silver Legacy is connected to Circus Circus and the El Dorado hotels. In the Silver Legacy is a 3 story silver mine (I think that's what she said) with a dome that runs a slide show of happenings. JoAnn took a picture of the Clay and Ruben, July 31 announcement.
Sherry is the new Clay friend from California that JoAnn is sharing her M & G package with. They met yesterday and had dinner at the hotel that evening.
This morning JoAnn had breakfast in the hotel: eggs, bacon, hash browns!! She said it was 64 degrees this morning but should get up to 90 degrees this afternoon. She has seen Casey, the new singer, a few times at the hotel.
At 5 pm, she can get her tickets, and at 6 pm, the backstage tour with Jerome and then the M&G with Clay and Ruben. She has her camera just in case that is what they use for the pictures.
She has been in the ballroom that will be set up for the concert and it is an intimate(smallish) room, so everyone should have a good view. I think it is called Grand Expedition.
She is having a good time and looking forward to this evening. She has a few things to ask Clay and will ask about a new tour and coming to Dallas.
I am going to get ready here shortly to go play in a wedding. JoAnn may call me when I return if she has time between the M&G and the show.

I asked about slot machines; she has played the penny slot machines!!! No big wins or losses!

I need to leave soon for the wedding so didn't talk long. She and others are having lunch in the hotel and Clay is having lunch there, too!!! She said he had Chinese food, I think. I believe Ruben is also there. JoAnn said Clay really looks good. I could hear a lot of ladies laughing and chattering in the background!! Sounds like a good Clay time is being held by all! ;D
I know it's rude but I probably would had stared at him eating. LOL

SO- THIS CONCERT STARTS AT 11:00 AND RUNS UNTIL 1:00. SHOULD BE A BLAST IF EVERYONE CAN STAY AWAKE!

hosaa just had a Clay sighting in the hotel.
He, Jerome and maybe someone else (that Aiken fog) were going from maybe a lounge (maybe not) to the elevators.
Clay had on his yellow plaid Give A Damn shirt, long jeans and tennis shoes.
Clay was leading the way, walking fast and looking "in charge" but also looking like anyone in the hotel.
She had her camera in her hand but I think she had momentary paralysis.

I just got a call from Fran (Pnqndancer), she spotted Clay in the Lobby a few minutes ago walking with Jerome. She thought he was probably going to sound check. She said he had on good fitting jeans and polo shirt...and his hair looked good.

FROM PERMASWOONED AT CV:
Yesterday when I flew from Seattle to Reno, I got preboarded since I was super dizzy. I chatted with a nice CB fan who was also somewhat broken and being preboarded as well. I saw ficus, Cloopy, Lizzybutts and a friend I'm forgetting board the plane and sit down up front. I was just idly watching people board and hoping no one would cram the rest of my row (no such luck) when I saw a pretty young blond get on board. I thought "Wow! She looks like Casey!" And then I saw Ben!!! And then Felix!! And then all the other members of the band!!! Wheee!!! I was so excited!! So I called ncgurrl so I could tell someone. I hung on the line to the glaring of flight attendants until they finally shut the door. Drat! No Clay or Ruben.
We had a fairly rough approach into Reno, so Quiana was sitting super-straight and looking out the window and then at the bandmates she could see. There may have been some testifyin' going on!!
When we finally landed, everyone deplaned, and I was towards the end. Unfortunately, no wheelchair for me, but I was feeling a bit better & figured the Reno airport couldn't be that big. WRONG!!!!! The hallways were ENDLESS!!! So when I finally dragged down there, the whole band was gathered around picking up drums and guitars and keyboards and luggage, and the carousel shut down while I watched. Where was my suitcase?????? ACK!!!!
I finally spied it with a pile of other luggage over by a pillar. When I asked people sitting near it, they said it wasn't theirs. Then a gal with a clipboard that was organizing everything for the band came over saying "We need to take this whole pile right here" including my suitcase. I said "Excuse me, but THIS suitcase is mine!!" Actually there were 2 other suitcases with their pile that were just a little darker purple than mine, but similar. I think it was that it had my homemade Clay Aiken Frequent Flyer luggage tag on it that fooled her!! Hee!! I turned it over to show her my name on it, and she relinquished my suitcase. If I had made it to Baggage Claim about 2 minutes later, they would have hauled it away!!!
Of course, if Clay had wanted to return it to me personally, I could have lived with that!!
BTW, didn't nyama's pictures turn out beautifully? I am so proud!! I'm a good teacher!!! She has lots more....she was 3rd row dead center, which was a great seat!!!!
One thing I loved about this concert is that I'm not sure I've ever seen Clay look so happy on stage through the WHOLE thing. He's just beaming!! So great to see!! Here's another pic:

Meet n greet was fun! Got a pretty picture signed. There was time for about 1 question or comment per person. He definitely knows how to keep the conversation rolling. If I was him I'd have all kinds of awkward silences haha. Talked about where we were from, the weather, how he loves... well, I can't remember if it was Portland or Seattle (bad fan!) lol. We were talking about dry heat vs humid heat. It's dry in UT, says he can wear a sweatshirt in dry heat. Humid heat is the worst, can't stand it. He asked me how I handle the heat in Utah, I told him I use my Air Conditioner haha.
Talked the the PBS specials, where they were airing, which cities had concert dates associated with them - but I think you guys mostly know that stuff already. If not I can't remember any new dates. He mentioned Denver as a possible concert stop and I'm not sure if that was already mentioned on the boards (bad fan lol)...
He said we'd get emailed all 5 photos taken at this meetngreet, since it was easier for them to mail them out that way, instead of trying to figure out which person belongs to which screen name. I hope it comes SOOON! My version of the word soon, not Clay's lol.
Well, my concert is already seating. I'm going to hop down there.

This is JoAnn's Meet and Greet.
JoAnn called just before she went in for the concert.
Great M&G with Clay and Ruben. She really enjoyed talking to them and just talked like she would to friends. The assistant took her gift for Clay which had striped socks in it for Clay and for Parker. She saw the socks and Clay showed them all that he was wearing yellow striped socks. Clay signed "JoAnn, Thank you for your support" on the picture she brought with her.
Both Clay and Ruben were chatty and she said Ruben looked like he had lost weight. She got four hugs from Clay!!! Clay did say he was coming to Grand Prairie on the next tour. Grand Prairie is just 25 minutes from me and even closer to JoAnn!!!!!
The gal that won the other charity auction with JoAnn gave her passes to a couple; so four in all at JoAnn's M&G. She did not have time to say anything about the tour.
It really sounds like she is having a great time! ;D

Cellcert wise a lot of them have had problems. BUT- I know there is audio of all of them (or most of them) at clack unlimited and it is pretty clear!

After Concert Report:
deemer called... said the audience was great, really enjoyed it. She talked to a guy after the concert and she said "wasn't it fabulous?" and he said, "It was beyond fabulous!"
mentioned the hammer pants... shiny black, gold belt and chain hanging down... he was trying to hide the belt... Rube hadn't seen the outfit so he was really surprised, but he said the pants were actually pretty good.
Then when he took the hammer pants off, he also removed the jacket he was wearing with the pants, and the rest of the concert was Clay in his white button down shirt, tucked into his jeans.
Lots of clack tonight. Scarlett got everything.
Some drunks and Clay and Ruben made fun of them, then one of the drunks didn't make it through the show and Clay said "did you see how fast they took her seats? She was in front row.
Security didn't seem to crack down on anyone at all... the only problem might be obstructed view because the floor was flat.

Just back from the concert. It was completely full with more men than I've ever seen at a Clay concert. The crowd was very into it, but not to the extent of getting up and dancing like they did in Clearwater. As you probably heard, there was one lady in the front row who immediately got C & R's attention. She was wearing a black & white striped top, so I'm going to refer to her as zebra lady. She told them over and over that it was her birthday and that she loved them. Zebra lady stood up and danced (all by herself) through about half the show. I was sitting at the end of her row, and was thinking that the people behind her were probably really disgusted with her blocking the view. The boys did get a lot of mileage out of kidding her. Clay said the sad thing was that she would probably never remember a thing in the morning. He asked her who she'd come with and she pointed out her children, sitting apart from her. He said it would probably take them years of therapy to get over this night. I saw her leaving during one of Ruben's slow songs and she never came back. I just hope she made it to her room before she passed out because she told Clay that she'd been celebrating since 12:00 a.m. She was reallllllly drunk!
Clay has a new outfit for the 90's that even Ruben hadn't seen. It was a black zippered jacket with an elastic waist and these SHINY black hammer pants that looked like they were made out of black plastic (picture a garbage bag) There was a gold chain hanging from under the jacket. Ruben completely lost it when he saw Clay's outfit, then Clay pulled up the jacket to reveal this 4" wide gold belt that the chain was hanging from, and Ruben lost it again. Clay proceeds to turn around and flash his belt to all of the band members because he was so proud of his "bling". It was hysterical. I think a lot of the audience members were NJU and they were very responsive to the humor and the vocal abilities of everyone. Security was very attentive to what was going on and I did see them approach a few people with flash cameras. Not sure if anyone had to leave because I was in the first row. It was a really good show, and my DH said he'd never heard Ruben sound better. (He thinks Clay always sounds great!) I do think Ruben's improved a lot since AI. I also think that being around Clay has made him stretch a bit, which he never had to do during idol, because they were always praising him.

Forgot to add that at one point Clay said zebra lady was "ducking frunk", which also cracked Ruben up and got a drum roll from Felix. Felix was doing so many drum rolls during Ruben's preacher routine, that Ruben said "Felix, you're gettin' on my nerves with those drum rolls, cut it out."

OMG! Scarlett got the 90's medely up from last night. These new Hammer pants are hilarious!!! And so much better then the yellow shirt and the white ones. They look like trash bags on his pants. LOL Very cute with some bling on them too. Then he takes them off and we see him with a white shirt and yummy yummy jeans with a belt. Gahhhhhhhh and *thud* The man is HOT!!! :P And it's the 1st time Ruben has seen it. He is cracking up laughing.
