Thanks Marilyn for getting all the info together. I'm excited. ;D I'm interested in this one. Hope to see a lot of you there. Wish we knew when tickets go on sale. Hopefully soon. Is it really standing room only for a concert? Yikes! Looks like you can sit at least over the floor. I know Kelly Clarkson played there last year.

Marilyn-I believe it's Live Nation that's doing the presale Thursday. Never heard of doing it from there but I think you have to register I thought I read from somebody. I'm confused about the seating chart and I'm starting to get nervous. People are saying a Golden Circle section is already sold out which is the seats on the floor? And there is a standing room only on the floor too. No way I want that. Just seats that are close to the stage even if I have to sit on the 1st balcony on the side that's fine with me. My friend I'm going with is getting 2 tickets for us together on Friday. Good luck to you and everybody!!!!

Irene just told me her, Philly and Cindy got Section 102 4th row in the 1st balcony I believe. They are all sitting together. That's not bad. She said she'll like to get together too. I'll let her know if there is anything planned.

BIG BIG MESS UP WITH THE SEATS AT THE CONCERT LAST NIGHT:

Quote
Clay Aiken – What Was LiveNation Thinking?
By musicfan123
Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

This post is coming from a Ramada Inn somewhere in New York State…….I think it is Newburgh. It is almost 2 in the morning so this will be very short!!

The Timeless Concert this evening was amazing. Clay and Ruben and all the musicians did a wonderful job. There was lots of fun ad libs and everyone seemed to have a great time on stage. Clay’s speaking voice is almost gone. (Do you think it would be possible for him to not talk tomorrow before the concert??) His singing voice is still awesome.

As much fun as the concert was, the venue was a horrible experience. The concert was moved to the Grand Ballroom on the seventh floor. AND, because it was a smaller venue, the seating was a complete mess. We had 1st row, first boxseats. We were passed from one person to the next as they didn’t know where we should sit. Finally, someone said we could just go sit in the balcony!! NO!! Finally, after a few choice words to the box office, the best they could come up with was putting us in the section reserved for guests of the band. Not good, but so much better than many people. People who had 1st row, didn’t have seats, the charity meet and greet people have very poor seats…….too many problems than you could believe. Because of the problems, the show started almost a half hour late.

After the program, I was able to talk with Kathy, the manager of the Grand Ballroom. She was kind in allowing me to ask some questions.

1. When was the decision made to change the venue?

Kathy: about 36 hours before the concert.

2. Who made the decision?

Kathy: LiveNation…..the facility had no say in the move.

3. Why did they move it?

Kathy: LiveNation wanted a full house, so they moved it to the smaller venue. It saved LiveNation money.

4. Why were the seats on TicketMaster listed as standing room??

Kathy: Many of the rock concerts are like that and the promoter, (LN) did not realize what kind of a crowd would come to the concert…….so they really didn’t do their homework.

5. I suggested that they would have probably sold more tickets had it did not say standing room. She agreed.

Kathy: I really want you to know that none of this was the idea of the facility. We had nothing to do with the decision to move the concert. They had no time to get the seating done and they are aware that there were a lot of very unhappy people.

I do want to thank Kathy for talking to me after the concert. She was very tired and frustrated, however she was friendly and took the time to answer my questions.

I need to get some sleep so I will say goodnight for now. Tomorrow……on to Verona!! (I have a meet & greet).

LIVENATION!!!! What were you thinking??

Thanks for posting that, Marilyn. It sounds like a horror story!  I hope you were able to get a decent seat.  I was thinking of going to this concert last minute.  I saw broker seats for third row center yesterday morning, and I was tempted to call my niece at work to see if she could leave a little early and catch the train.  Sure glad I didn't spend the money.  Can't imagine what LN was thinking.  I'll bet there was a damaged soda machine somewhere.  ;D

I am going to recreate the cellcert from CV because you would not believe what went on there last night

The venue screwed up the seating! The configuration is not what was sold on tickemaster!

Even the venue is in a different place! The first row is about 10 ft from the stage.

The doors were supposed to open at 6:30 but they weren't ready and by the time they did open the line was 2/3 the way down the block. With the seating fiasco not sure it will start on time but we'll just have to see what happens.

Not really knowing or having seen the configuration that was sold it was hard to picture what Alice was telling me. This is best I could comprehend that there three sections in orchestra that were sold but now the configuration is only two and then it goes to three behind orchestra. I'm not sure, I just know Alice was disappointed because she had center seats and now she is off the the side.

The show tonight is in the Grand Ballroom (per Ben's Tweet) at the Hammerstein not the main room. The seating chart on ticketmaster was for the main room. Yikes.

Yesterday the only tickets left were GA Standing Room Only. So I think it sold out under the configuration that Ticket Bastard had. Then again, I don't know squat

Quote
Just got off the phone with LauraQ....

Place is packed.....multiple people assigned to the same seat...... Not having fun yet......

Quote
Ficus said they sold way too many tickets for the venue. Jerome said it is set up because of the fire code.

Quote
Ficus reporting that she spoke to Jerome and they sold too many tickets so they had to switch rooms. Many are not seated in the good seats they thought they had

Quote
Tom Deckman doesn't have a seat
Ficus was willing to give Tom her seat but Jerome found him a seat.

Quote
The config on TM is the larger room, and it sounds as if that's where they should have been, but I believe they are in the smaller room

My boy can't dance." check for $7,000

Pastor Studdard is talking about the letter coming all the way from Raleigh, NC, a long way .... reading letter "My boy can sing"...... , she saw him heal the boy with the bad breath and knows he can help her son .... She said there's one thing her boy can't do, her boy can't dance .... dramatic organ music plays...he shook the envelope and a check for $7000 fell out....

Says come on our here son, come on out. Ruben sining some Amazing Grace rather dramtically. How Sweet the Soundddddd

Ruben asked for more money .... now has healed Clay and Clay is dancing

I'm wondering if some new dialogue is taking place. Ruben is asking if anyone else is suffering from lackofrythmitis. Starting a bidding war within audience for money for his healing.

My Hammerstein experience:

The man is freaking phenomenal.!! His speaking voice was so hoarse and kept breaking. He made a few puberty jokes, but then just said that it just had to be put up with because there was nothing he could do.

With regard to the ticket fiasco- I guess I lucked out, because my seat originally was on the right side, but I ended up just right of center stage ( and Clay was right in front of me LOTS of times) in the second row. I hated that there was such a gap between the stage and first row, but my view was superb. Even the two ladies in front of me that danced practically the whole time did not obstruct my view. However, in the row behind me and a couple of seats over, this woman kept screaming I love you Clay REALLY loud. I wish SHE had got laryngitis!!  Bigapple4Clay was sitting three seats down from me and a lot of people around me were getting video. The lady next to me, very nice sweet lady, had taken a picture of Jerome with folks, and one of Devin who had a big smile on his face. This was outside the venue.
She did NOT have a flash, she was taking video, but the dang security guy kept coming over to her and telling her no flash allowed. There were MANY MANY video or picture takers, but he kept coming up to her and telling her to stop. What a disruption he was. There were no announcements whatsoever about no video or flash.

CLAY- what can I say that can best describe what he does for me? INDESCRIBABLE joy, happiness, and dancermoms THRUM. His eyes sparkled, he was revved up to go, and it was WONDERFUL. They still delivered the script like it was fresh, but added bits and pieces here and there.
My absolute favorite medley was the 80’s, the same as Tom Deckman’s. Clay absolutely KILLS on these songs. (Although the very very top favorite is always More Than A Feeling. I want to hear this whole song coming out of those golden lungs.

When they did “September” Clay started it a second time. He was barely winded. He actually wanted to do it a third time, but Ruben wouldn’t and Clay called him a wimp!!

There was more improvisation on the revival-Clay danced spastically while Ruben sang Amazing Grace, and then Clay looked up down and all around to see who Ruben was talking to- his “boss”. Clay bent WAY over backward- and now I hear Tom Deckman was in the audience, I wonder if he did it because of Tom? When Clay shakes all over, it is so funny, even his cheeks shake. On his FACE, folks!! After he was healed, he gave Ruben this huge hug and held on to him.
Ruben was funny when he asked the audience if they wanted to be healed from lackarhythmitis. When different folks responded with different dollar amounts, he sounded like an auctioneer “Selling the cure”. When the first large amount was called out, Clay got this astounded look on his face and came forward. It looked like he was asking the folks to give the money to him!

The Footloose segment is just the very best. The audience went wild, and they did it again. This is the most joyful lively segment of the show, and I just love it.

Although Clays speaking voice was hoarse, he did not miss one single note while singing- how does he do it??
I was sitting next to a man and his wife, and the guy was really responding to the show. When Clay stood in front of us, this man kept pointing his finger at him, like “You da man”.

And TOML was done as an encore. I like this way much better, because we got to scream our lungs out for them to come back and sing some more.
This show has been fantastic. I sincerely hope that Saturday night will NOT be the last time it is heard. Vegas-TV special- ANYTHING. I hope TV bigwigs or Decca took note over how fantastic a show this is.

And a DVD highlighting the best of the shows would be great- each show has had a little bit more or a little bit different, and it would be a sin not to be able to keep it for posterity.
For me, that was the last concert. I could watch it umpteen times and never be tired of it. The energy in that show was just fantastic.
Thanks SO Much to all the clack takers that have captured these golden moments to share with us and with those who were unable to see it live.

Another excellent notch in the career of Clay Aiken.

What an amazing fun show this was. One of the best I been too. Will never forget it! Gorgeous pics! Poor Scarlett. Hope she got some good decent clack. Heard she was in the balcony. Sad it wad my last show. :( Was happy to see it twice anyway. They should really take this to Vegas.

I agree Joyce. I went to Lancaster too and this audience was soooooo much better I thought. Loved seeing these guys up in the balcony dancing and singing the whole time. It was so much fun and so funny! Where did you sit? If I saw you would had said hello.

After the crazy mess we had with tickets we ended up 6th row close to center thanks to an amazing fan.

Oh Wow! That's awesome! We might had been close. I was 4th row center like sitting in the aisle. Was suppose to be to the far right but moved us to the next section so it was a better seat. Could see Clay up close on stage Gahhhhh LOved it! So no complaints. ;) Feel bad for a lot of other people though. It's a weard venue but I liked it. At least the concert was so worth it. ;D

Did you wait outside to see if Clay would come out? Never saw him. JUst saw Felix go out the front. We found out there was another door in the back around the block so we went there and waited for a few mins but we still weren't sure so we went back to the front. I think we waited for an hour and a half. I saw a van with guys getting their suitcases in it and then they lefted but my guess is after they did that they picked him up from the other side.

Out of the 4 shows I went to this was the best crowd of them all. Such an epic show.

And no we didn't stay. We knew better with this place. Plus we wanted food and we had to go catch our train so it wouldn't be to late so we could get up and go to Verona. :)

For me too. I was hoping a NY crowd would be one of the best and love it when I'm right. ;D I was sorry I didn't see Tom Deckman there but it's nice to hear he loved the show. Ahh I see. Understand. Cool you had a 2fer in NY. 8)

Do you have any idea what floor the smaller ballroom was where it was suppose to be? Curious how differant a room it would had been. Just read that a preacher was there too to do a show. Had no clue. LOL It was funny when we had to use the stairs to go back down outside to leave. 6th flights down. Was like where the heck are we going? It was an adventure that's for sure. LOL I did see the room where the bar was but didn't go in there.

Next time Clay plays NYC the Beacen theater would had been nice to go too. He was there for the 2nd JNT and heard nice things about it. Would love to see him in NY again. I know he's going to Long Island for the next tour.

I have no clue where the other room was. Haven't been there before. Even when I went in to have a meet & greet with Ruben we had to go up the elevator. Got to say Hi to Clay after the FC M&G witch was pretty fun. :')
