Good Morning!

I went to see the Root Canal Doctor (endo.....??) at 9 am.  His office is just around the corner from us;  only took me about 3 minutes to get there.  He said he felt like he could not do a root canal on this tooth and suggested I have it removed.  His assistant took x-rays and I was there almost 45 minutes, but they did not charge me!!!  I think they felt sorry for me having to go through this again.

I called my oral surgeon's office and have an appointment today at 3 pm.  Also, let my dentist know what is happening.  We are playing "42" with friends at 1 pm, so I let the hostess know we would need to leave by 2:30.  I told Skip to plan to stay and play the game, but he wants to come with me.

One expense after another it seems like the past several months!!  The oral surgeon wants my quartet to play at his daughter's wedding some day.  Maybe I can make a deal with him for a future wedding and he'll reduce his charge to me!!!!

Our TiVo is acting up!  It "says" that it is not connected and it is!  So, Skip has been trying to figure out what is wrong with it this morning.  I "need" my TiVo to record all of my shows!!

Frankie,
I like Pawn Stars, but do not care for American Pickers;  don't enjoy seeing all the junk they go through!!  At least on Pawn Stars, we see some items that if junky at first are usually restored to mint condition!  I like fresh fruit, also.  It can seem like a dessert.

Thea,
I will have what is left of this tooth "yanked out" but have the inset put in just in case I decide to go for another implant!!  My new implant and crown in the lower jaw will be losing its "partner" tooth;  the reverse of what happened with the upper tooth!!!

Where is the "tear out my hair" emoticon when you need it.

Hello to all and I hope you have a Terrific Tuesday!

Hugs,
Prissy

Prissy - Here 'ya go! You deserve these and more after all you've gone through:

Prissy and JoAnn - I wish American Pickers showed what they find ends up looking like once restored or who actually buyes the item - they buy things that look like junk to me!

JoAnn - we are supposed to be warm today, too, but I just walked to the mailbox, and it is still cold!

Just checking in on all of you - wonder if Glory is still playing at the Shelter. Have a good afternoon, everyone.

Just checking in.  I have taken a "day off" from supervising my mother's care to just get back act together.  Have been doing some laundry, filing, business calls (mother/aunt POA stuff)  and am enjoying looking out the window at the gorgeous sunshiny day.

I spoke with the Fox Point director today and she indicated that my mother and her new caregiver are getting along just fine.  I think having somebody there with her 24/7 is allaying her fears that she may fall or get very sick without somebody knowing.

This is such a blessing to me.  Prayer does work.  I'm sure many of you would agree with me.

GLORY, a poodle mix sounds wonderful.  Bichapoos, maltapoos, cockapoos, lhasapoos and of course labra- and goldendoodles!....There are so many poodle mixes and I have heard nothing but good things about them!!! Don't worry about matting hair.  Once you adopt him/her you can take her to a groomer and get her shaved down.  Then you can start letting the hair grow back again and simply keep up with it by brushing the coat every few days and having the dog groomed about every 6 weeks or so.

PRISSY, so glad to hear that you've decided to extract the tooth and to leave it so that you can have an implant later if you should change your mind (I can almost bet that you won't  ;) )

FRANKIE, I agree with you on adding 30 minutes exercise to each day.  I think I'm going to start working on that next week.

JOANN, Phil and I just ignore Mimi if she tries to get us up before 7:30 or so.  After a few minutes she pawing Phil and putting her cold, wet nose on my face,  she "gets the hint" and just goes back to sleep in her little bed for another 30 minutes or so.  Maybe when Sammie gets older he'll do the same thing!

Going to rest a bit.

Glory, I think you should look a little more, go tomorrow and see what's available in Cambellesville just to compare! I had one of my girlfriends and her fella to a local Humane Society today to see two male orange tabby's, they are rare to come across.  They kept my Simon when I was in hospital and recovering and loved him!!  We found them a gorgeous boy today!

Round  # 1 of therapy is over. Now, I have a schedule and will be going to the same therapist twice a week until 2/3/11.  I was scheduled for a total of 8 sessions, twice a week.  Today, was mainly "evaluation", testing, simple exercises and finished the last 10 minutes with my leg elevated with an ice wrap.  Oh yeah, nice foot massage too! 8)

I've decided to leave Sammy Boy in the Pet Smart Doggie Hotel while we go to Houston for the Valentine Clay weekend get away.  My baby has never been left without either me or Mom the entire 2 and half years of his life.  I checked it out today and it looks good.  I'm even going to sign him up for daily play times and snacks of doggie safe ice cream and dog biscuits.  It will be more expensive then the vet's kennel BUT WHAT SOLD ME ON PET SMART, THEY HAVE A STAFF MEMBER SLEEP ON THE PREMISSES EACH NIGHT.  AT THE VET, THEY ONLY COME IN TWICE ON SUNDAY TO FEED, RUN THE DOGS AND NO ONE SLEEPS THERE.  I WILL FEEL MUCH BETTER KNOWING THAT A HUMAN IS THERE 24 /7.

GLORY, JMHO....I think this sounds like a great dog.  Possibly with the jutting chin she is a Lhasapoo like my little Kukla was.  She was the sweetest, most loving and easy-going dog I have ever known (well, next to my Miss Mimi).  She would follow Phil all around the house all day long.  I think she had a crush on him!

But if you want a Westie, then it probably is a good idea for you to keep looking.   Just keep in mind that often purebred dogs can have more health issues than mixes.  That's just been my experience, though.

JOHANN, I also like the idea of somebody being at a pet "hotel" 24/7.  That's why we love Camp Bow Wow.  Will Sammy get a chance to play with the other dogs there?  That also makes it a good experience for our pets.  Hope it works out well for you!

My mother just called.  She's "very upset" over the type of body wash I brought over to her yesterday.  Huh?  (It was Dial with moisturizers).  She had specificially told me that the Dove moisturizing body wash caused her to almost slip in the shower, so I got her another brand. Oh well!   :-\   I asked her about her caregiver and she said "She's OK".  That's a ringing endorsement from my mother!  Hooray!!!!    ;D

The good thing is that I am starting to actually laugh about this stuff.  My son's advice about just letting the past go has really helped me in dealing with stress these past couple of days!  I'm feeling good and "alive" again!  Whoot!!! (Hope it lasts  ;) ).

P.S. And I'm no longer taking the Xanax as of yesterday!   ;D

Prissy, can't believe what you have been through with these teeth! and expense too, how do things like this happen?
Frankie, I have been making fruit smoothies in the morning more regularly, but great idea to keep a bowl in the fridge!  It's the same for me with veggies. If I keep a container of veggies, cut up ready to eat I will have more every day.

Good Evening!

Just watched "V"!!  We enjoyed playing "42" with friends this afternoon;  Skip and I left early for my appointment with the oral surgeon.  I made an appointment for next Tuesday morning to have the abscessed tooth removed.  I will have a bone graft in my upper jaw to make it possible to have an implant at a later date, which I probably will do!!

Skip and I ran some errands after the appointment and got home about 6 pm.  We stopped at Chick Fil A for dinner and I napped some after we got home.

Tomorrow evening Soul Food Supper!!

I think that my tooth situation is working out OK!!  Just a surprise that it was abscessed.

I hope you all have had a good day!

Hugs,
Prissy
