More recaps from CV Clay singing
He was having a lot of trouble with his voice and lyrics, but was still entertaining... I didn't really know any of the songs (and clearly Clay mostly didn't seem to either :whistling: ) as I appear to have a narrow view of music world and live under a rock, haha. The comedians were all interesting - I'm not big on comedy and maybe found 1/3rd of each act funny, but they did have some good bits and Clay seemed entertained. They each roasted him a bit too.

am really bad when it comes to comedy. I usually am the last person to get the joke or I don't get it at all. They were jabbing at Clay all night in their jokes but he was having a fun time with it and was laughing.
None of my songs made it. I also didn't recognize most of the songs. He ended with You Are My Song and Midnight Train to Georgia. Does someone else know the names of the songs? He got stronger as the night progressed with the singing. He kept saying that you all picked some doozies of a song. I think one of the songs was from The Greatest Showman?
While they didn't announce that we could take video they never said we couldn't and at one point Clay said -- it's all going to end up on Social Media anyway and I exhaled. At one point Nick was right next to me and I had Mark;s DJI filming and I went...I don't want to get told I am being a bad girl lol but he didn't say a word and then ducked when he passed in front of us. LauraQ and I said -- we are golden!!!!
It was a fun night and I loved seeing everyone again. It's like a gathering of friends.
Clay came around to every table and talked to everyone. Diane did too to say that Clay shouldn't talk too much because his voice was strained from all the laughing in the morning. She then said -- but he never listens to me and she was right. He was talking and she kept trying to shush him.

The improv was lots of fun but the evening was amazing. I loved all three comedians and laughed so much. The roasting was pretty gentle and very funny to me. Clay laughed his butt offf. He struggled with his voice but his struggling voice is a thousand times more wonderful than anyone else's. He worried about it a lot more than I did. I was enchanted.
Parker and Alister were there and cute as can be.jaymes and Jamie and Sean's parents were also there and I spoke with them. No wonder Sean is such a doll.
Nick joined us in the bar afterwards and told many funny stories which I can't remember but which kept us entertained until the wee hours.
I loved Clays outfit. He looked very avant guarde and adorable.

it was glorious. Clay was absolutely gorgeous. Skinny as a reed and enjoying it so much. He was extremely animated, loving every moment. And yeah, he had some problems with the high notes, but boy, he emoted those songs with his old body. His hands, his arms, his face and swaying full of music. So funny

From CV Wish I can show the picture! lol
Clay told the story about the time he and Ruben visited R's brother's strip club. On a week day, it wasn't even the B team of strippers performing. Clay demonstrated a bored one who just read a magazine on the job.

Nick told him not to do that again without charging us more money!

From CV Clay did a Christmas concert to preview his Christmas CD! Wow! Can’t wait to hear it!
Just back from the Christmas CD preview party. 0MG!! This is going to be the best album ever ever in the whole wide world. Clay sang some of the songs on the album with Ben playing, but since there’s such wonderful production on the CD, , he also played the CD versions. They are wonderful! Clay was on fire. He was so funny. Big hugs at the end. Loved every minute.

From CV about last night!
What a great night last night! Diane B says it's not a gala anymore... it's (unofficially)a family reunion. It felt exactly like that!
Lots of fun from the 3 comics... although, like dancermom, I'm not a big comedy fan, it was very well done and clever, especially the last girl..I'm sure someone will have video
Y'all should have been there!
Clay looked STUNNING..that shirt is lame...ie, not LAME, Lamay...to spell it phonetically. Slightly glittery when the light hit it right, and a perfect match for the stripe in his beautiful PANTS!! which had a tie closure...I bet there's a jacket to match.
I'm sure Jamie did his hair... gorgeous, in a kind of caramel colour.
There were some vocal struggles, but altogether it was an amazing performance.
"You are the song" was my nomination. I LOVE that song, and I was NOT one of those crying in 2013...like Faye, I thought y'all were crazy!
The one from The Greatest Showman was also mine...if you can find it, watch the video from the movie.
Yes, there was a little partying last night! I'm halfway home, in Morgantown WV after 3 hours of sort-of sleep, and I'm DONE!!
Tomorrow!!
