that was a fun interview for so many reasons! There should be a picture on @EWlive's twitter soon. I hope this can be captured. It was a decent length interview for this show. Jessica has always been a fan of Clay, famously predicted his win the night of the anomaly (sigh...if only). Which doesn't mean she has never criticized or made fun of him, this show does that with everyone. They talked a lot of season two idol so she couldn't help herself and brought up Bridge Over Troubled Water. Some interesting info about life in the Idol Mansion and the making of the Ford commercials. Clay claims to not remember making the pimp commercial so that was one of the stories. Clay said they were the orphan children guinea pigs of American Idol, which went on to become slick (PR and marketing firms) and win awards. Clay did some cussing, and Ruben called him on it, but Clay said this is Sirius! I can say anything. Ruben talked about how Clay didn't cuss back in the day (makes me wonder if he actually ever watched documentary on Clay's run for congress),
They also talked a lot about the new show. There will be a lot of singing, people expect it, and skits to make fun of their competing with each other. The verbal back and forth with Ruben and Clay was a lot of fun. Clay claims to have a terrible memory and Ruben remembers every detail. Lots of zingers. I listen to this show every day and I can tell the hosts had a lot of fun.
