Santa Slam' features Aiken
 By David Lindquist

Grammy winners Linkin Park will rock the Pepsi Coliseum on Dec. 8. Also on the bill are Puddle of Mudd and Ill Nino.

WNOU-FM (93.1) appears to be giving Indianapolis its biggest gift of the December concert calendar: The radio station's "Santa Slam 2K3" features pop vocal sensation and "American Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken.
The concert is scheduled Dec. 12 at Pepsi Coliseum.
In addition to Aiken, the "Santa Slam" lineup includes hip-hop's Black Eyed Peas, modern rock's All-American Rejects and Liz Phair, pop-rock's O.A.R. and Josh Kelley, plus one more "American Idol" contestant, Kimberly Locke.
In music stores, anticipated releases from Alicia Keys, Ruben Studdard and the Offspring will hit shelves in the coming month.

Clay Aiken had a big week as his tune "Invisible" jumped from#19 to #13 on the Adult Contemporary chart. That's as high as his last hit "This Is The Night" ever got. (His version of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" only climbed only #29.)
More significantly, "Invisible" moved from #39 to #31 on the Top 40 chart, which "This Is The Night" never cracked. It's no surprise that Aiken, with his softer sound, is doing well on the Adult Contemporary chart, but for the American Idol to be climbing the Top 40 chart is a something of a cultural shift.

The ten most popular music artists -- right now:

1) Britney Spears

2) Beyonce

3) Clay Aiken

4) Christina Aguilera

5) 50 Cent

6) Hilary Duff

7) Justin Timberlake

8 ) Pink

9) Jennifer Lopez

10) Eminem

I can't resist a chuckle at Clay Aiken continuing to ride so high. He's so radically different from the stars around him. Like, I don't think that anyone is going to hear a song on the radio and say "is that 50 Cent or Clay Aiken?" Speaking of radio play, Aiken is actually getting some, for a change.

Invisible has entered the Top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart!
This chart is for songs and is based airplay and sales if released as a commercial single.  Which it is, but of course hasn't been released yet...
Anyway, last week #53 - this week #44!

It's not unusual for Neil Sedaka to turn on the radio and hear one of his hit songs from 50 years ago. Sedaka's latest work may be filling the airwaves as well, with Clay Aiken, runner-up on the recent TV hit "American Idol," scheduled to release one of Sedaka's songs.

"Solitaire" will be released Dec. 15. Sedaka met Aiken when he was a celebrity judge on the show.

I just added a new MoaM review to the Review thread.  It's a wonderfully written article by a young woman who is a sophomore in high school and was published in the journal of the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta.

It's very nice, check it out!

Do you know why he is nominated for best selling single?  Since his single was the top seller for 2003, why wouldn't he just receive that award.  Maybe it is for best single of something like that, that isn't based on sales figures.  His is the only one on that list that made platinum.

Well, let's put it this way.  If he doesn't win this one, it was definitely fixed.

Since Clay just won the AMA Fans' Choice Award and he met Dick Clark who produced the AMAs and since Clay was just on the cover of TV Guide.....maybe he'll show up on this show.

You think?

TV guide awards----I think American Idol will definitely make the Top 20 and I think Clay will be one of the top five.  Whether or not he can appear as a guest on the show........I don't know.

He should definitely win for best selling single.  Like duh.........

I was in Walmart this weekend and there was a special stand up display saying "Give the gift of music".  On a vertical column were the pictures of 6 CDs and then the display featured the CDs for people to buy.  At the top was Clay's.  Below his was Brittany Spears and also on the display was Avril Lavaine and Rod Stewart and two others.    :D
