I think you're absolutely right, Marlene. Whoever wrote that post sounds like an OTT "Claymate" who doesn't know when to mind her own business. "Fans" like that have gotten Clay into problems before, and given the rest of us the ridiculous reputation we still have, even 10 years in.

You are right: it's Clay's management team's job to find him work. They know how to do that. There are considerations that we, the public, know nothing about. Tweeting Nigel, a major television producer with many projects going on besides "who to pick to judge American Idol" is pointless. He has a Twitter account to promote his shows. It's not like he's given out his private cell phone number and wants to hear everyone's opinion on how he should do his job.

What else does she want to do, call venues and harass them to hire Clay for a holiday gig? Shows aren't booked that way. And the manager of a theatre, casino, club, whatever, is not going to go running to bring in someone because a dozen women called up, telling him he should. (Not to mention that their pestering the venue is more likely to make Clay look bad than good.)

You're right; it's our job to buy the tickets when we can, to buy downloads and CDs. It's not our job to act as his booking agent, his publicist, or anybody else he employs. Fans like this seem to cause more harm than good for Clay, and often end up making him and us all look like fools because of their refusal to respect boundaries.
To look at me, you may be wrong. I've been through this--it made me strong.
I believed that I would find an open door or a light to lead me to the other side.

MARLENE, I totally agree with you.  Personally I feel no obligation whatsoever these days to keep Clay's career going. I feel absolutely no "responsibility" towards Clay except to go see him   in concert or (possibly) watch him on TV or Broadway when/if he is on. Clay Aiken is a big boy and should be able to handle that himself with his Band of Bungling Idiots "Team ".  These people who are ragging on those who of us with REAL LIVES need to bug off.

A FAN STRIKES AGAIN DOES NOT SURPRISE ME ONE BIT,WHEN CLAY HIRES ME I WILL GO TO WORK ON GETTING VENUES UNTIL THEN I DON T THINK IT IS MY PLACE TO CONTACT ANYONE. IS THERE A TEAM CLAY THEY SURE HAVE NOT DONE MUCH IMO TO HELP HIM. HOPE HE IS NOT SITTING AROUND WAITING FOR PEOPLE TO CALL OR FANS TO GET HIM BOOKED. NUFF SAID.

I do agree but I did tweet AI and Nigel once but like some Claymates I wouldn't do it more then once. I think campaigns are usually a waste of time. Clay wants fans to ask venues to see if he come there. I would never do that.

Feel better Marilyn. I will probably just go to one concert if came to Baltimore or DC. I am sure he could. Just as usual we can't see dates all at once. Annoying When we do cellcerts I will be ready to help you out.  ;D

Marlene -- I also agree with you 110%.  It is our job to support Clay AFTER his management gets him jobs.  Sunny is right--that is why we still have the reputation of being OTT.

Went to the doctor today and BP is much better.  He has no idea why it dropped so much last month--and I don't know why I am so tired all the time (lazy I guess).

If we make it through the heat this week, it is supposed to rain and get cooler by this weekend.  Maybe then I'll have a little more energy.

I am here.  Read all the time.  Been so busy.  Our contractor is coming to start our bathroom tomorrow.  Ahead of schedule.  Just been out and about.  Trying to keep cool.

I agree with everyone.  I do not get 10% of Clay's salary so it is not my job to get him work.  I want to see and support him.  I certainly have done my share over the years.  That fan should stop doing that shit.  Stop.  It makes a fool out of him and us.  I hate even reading this.  He is a "grown ass man.". OMG.

For all having health issues---get better, please.  We all need each other to be well.

Gotta go move stuff from my bedroom.  Later.

Love it there Micki. Don't live that far away from OC. One of the best beaches by far in the US. Like to go there for the day soon. Have a great time.

Prayers for everyone from me too.

Marilyn you have been working some awesome hours,  it will all be worth it though in Oct when you can get up close and personal with Clay.

We are due for another hot & humid day in Raleigh. Yesterday where I work we had a bad electrical storm, & the power went out several times. It poured rain on my way home from work, but as I got closer to home it had not rained a drop. These summer thunderstorms are crazy.

Johanna- Congratulations on getting to go to the backyard Inclusion this past week. I enjoyed reading your recap over at the CV. It sounded like everyone had a great time. I know that everyone involved was proud to have raised the 4500.00 for the Project. I'm so glad you were able to go.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, and that you can stay COOL.

SUNNY--THE LINK TOOK ME TO JOBS NOT AN ARTICLE.

THINGS AROUND HERE ARE BEYOND BUSY.  OUR CONTRACTOR--WHO GAVE US 1 DAY NOTICE BLESS HIS HEART-- IS SOMETHING ELSE. WE HAVE USED HIM MANY TIMES AND WOULDN'T THINK OF ANYONE ELSE. HE GUTTED THE OLD BATHROOM AND GOT RID OF ALL THE CRAP YESTERDAY IN 2 1/2 HOURS INCLUDING TAKING DOWN A WALL.  TODAY HE STARTED AT 7:15.  INSTALLED 3 HIGH HATS, ALL THE OUTLETS, MOVED THE PLUMBING CAUSE NOW WE WILL HAVE 2 VANITIES, DID ALL THE SHEET ROCK, INSTALLED A NEW WALL AND DOOR.  BY 3:00.  THEN THE SPACKLER TOOK OVER AND HE WILL LEAVE SOON.  TOMORROW THE CONTRACTOR WILL FINISH UP SOME MOLDING AND THE SPACKLER WILL FINISH UP BY MID AFTERNOON.  I CANNOT BELIEVE IT.

BARRY HAD TO GO TO ER'S BECAUSE SHE HAD A FRENCH DRAIN AND SUMP PUMP INSTALLED 2 WEEKS AGO.  THE CARPENTER GOT TO HER HOUSE AT 8 TO PUT IN SOME STUDDING AND 3 SHEETS OF SHEET ROCK.  HE DIDN'T GET DONE UNTIL 2.  WTF?  OH, AND OUR BATHROOM WORK WAS INSPECTED BY THE TOWNSHIP AND PASSED.  SOMETHING IS JUST TOO WEIRD ABOUT THIS.

I, OTOH, WENT TO LUNCH AND PLAYED MAH JONGG.  LOCKED THE DOGS IN THE DEN WITH ACCESS TO THE YARD VIA THE DOGGIE DOOR.

PAINTER NEXT WEEK FOR THE NEW BATHROOM AND OUR BEDROOM.  SOME OTHER TOUCH UP STUYFF.  THEN WE WAIT FOR THE TILE MAN WHO IS GOING TO BE ON VACATION.  HE IS GOOD AND REASONABLE SO WE WILL WAIT THE EXTRA WEEK.  WE HAVE A BATHROOM TO USE SO I WILL CLEAN UP THE SCHMUTZ THIS WEEKEND.

CLAY NMUST BE VERY BUSY WITH HIS SON AND HIS TV.  ALL HIS TWEETS ARE ABOUT TV.  ANNOYING.
