PRISSY, we were posting at the same time!
I'm glad you paced yourself last night at orchestra. I would think playing
pizzicato
passages would be tough after not playing for a while. You'll get back into it, though!. Sorry your port was hurting you.
As to reconstruction.....Take your time in making a decision. It is a long-term commitment, I am learning. Lots of discomfort and downright pain, to say the least. I am so tired of the crushing feeling I have in my chest from the tissue expanders as well as the mega-vials of saline that are injected into my chest every week. Ouch!!! I have my eye on the "the prizes", though. Looking forward to the time when "the new girls in town" are safely tucked into my chest!
You have to go into this prepared for some discomfort, but I think it's worth the effort in the end!

Glory~ Just wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you and pray that all goes well.
I had the test two months ago. I find if I held my nose while drinking the prep,it helped a little. I also had a warm pot of clear chicken broth, and would take a spoon full of it right behind the prep,it took the yucky taste out of my mouth.
Pigs are flying in Raleigh~ There was a good article of Clay in the paper this morning for a change.
Hope the link works:

Marlene - thanks for that article. Back when I was helping with the ANN, I was shocked that Clay did not seem to have very much support from his hometown
(I often visited your local TV, radio, and newspaper sites looking for articles). It seemed that the local newspaper wrote articles whenever they could sell a "special edition", but did not support Clay at other times. Hope that is changing!
Glory - at times when I cannot get the high protein shakes down, I find it helps to put them in the freezer for about 30 minutes - are you allowed to do this with the prep?
Prissy - I agree with Sharon (we should be table judges!) Your tables are much better. I like the red, white, and blue table, but anyone could do that.
Thea - the office is cleaned, and I am thinking about going to work on the pantry next - another scary area! You should be at your doctor's office by now - hope a solution to the anemia is found quickly. You must not fish - have you ever opened a can of worms??

FRANKIE, I'm sitting here in the oncology waiting room right now. I AM SO SICK OF DRS!! Hopefully there is a simple solution to this.
And nope, I'm glad to say I've never opened a can of worms in conjunction with fishing!
GLORY, I hope you can get your colonoscopy tomorrow, as scheduled. Do the best you can with the prep and just show up tomorrow. JMO

JoAnn, thinking about you and hoping the incision is healing! I would love to see a post from you again to let us know you are OK!
Prissy, you were gonna visit with Jennie and I can't remember when?
Frankie, good for you, that takes motivation!
Thea, let us know how you made out today, and I'm with you, Jeanne hasn't posted in so long

Good Afternoon/almost Evening!!
I did go get Jennie today and we went to see JoAnn in the hospital. I arrived about 11:30 at Jennie's house. When we got to the hospital, we did valet parking (as we all always do), and went in the door by the Gift Shop. I know one of the ladies that works there, so we went in and visited with her for a few minutes. There were these purple TCU watches in the gift shop that caught my eye, but they had so much glitz around the face of the watch, it was hard to see the clock hands! Pretty but not practical.
As we were waiting for the elevator, the doors open, and out walks the minister at Jennie and JoAnn's church. He had been up visiting JoAnn. A few minutes later and we would have missed him. Of course, we don't go up right away, but stayed there by the elevators to visit with him for a bit.
I was especially glad to see him because I wanted to let J and J's church know that they would be needing them. I took him aside and told him that they would be needing transportation and it would be nice if meals could be arranged, too. I told him that if someone from the church called, J and J would say they were fine and didn't need anything, but not to listen!! I know I was stepping out of bounds some, but I felt like that was a sign of fate to see the minister there!!
We went up to see JoAnn and she was in her bed with a tray of food!! Soup, ice tea, jello, cranberry juice, and hot chocolate. She said most of it did not taste good, but I said how great it was that she was able to eat food and not just have the intravenous feeding. Jennie and I went through JoAnn's flowers and discarded some that were wilted. Then, a while later, Jennie and I went to the hospital cafeteria and had wonderful salads from the salad bar. They have all kinds of food in this eating area; almost anything you could want.
We went back up to see JoAnn and Jennie had some mail and bills for her to look at. I kind of dozed in the recliner while they went through the mail. About 3 pm, we left, and I took Jennie home and came on home. Jennie is really doing well on her own. A friend was planning to get her this evening to take her to a pot luck dinner and neighborhood meeting.
GOOD NEWS!! JOANN WILL GET TO GO HOME ON FRIDAY!! I don't know if we will get her after Meals on Wheels, or if Flora, the good friend and former neighbor will help get her home.
I am still working on the house. The dining room was kind of the Operation Tablescape area, and I just about have it back to normal! I am working on the kitchen and need to get started on my room, too.
Tomorrow, Skip and I will go to the Garden Club Council meeting (this is the group that put on the Flowercade.) Then some errands on that side of Fort Worth and at 1:45 I am practicing at the Woman's Club with the cellist who is playing with the Whitlock Quartet next week on Guest Day. She is not as "experienced" as most cellists we have played with, so we are having an extra practice session.
Jeanne,
I did receive the package with all the art magazines in them. I took a few to JoAnn and the card for her and the rest I left at her house. I know she will enjoy them and she appreciates your thinking of her. I did look at a few of them, too. Very interesting!
Thea,
I hope you get good news about the anemia! It' gets frustrating to have to keep dealing with one thing after another!! Enough is enough!
Glory,
Don't let that "stuff" make you sick. Maybe you can try some of the suggestions made to make it taste a little better. I know you want to get the colon procedure over with.
Frankie,
I will never forget the first time I went to Raleigh; just after Clay had been on AI. I made Skip take me to the Visitor Center expecting to find out all kinds of places to go and see things about Clay. It was like Clay who? Where were the billboards bragging on their "favorite son?" Nothing! It was like no notice had been made of him!! I did find a Clay "store" with Clay stuff just outside of Raleigh.
Sharon and Frankie,
The tablescapes at Flowercade were no where near the elaborate presentations done by the Woman's Club. I think that's the vision I had in my mind, so it was hard for me to "edit" my tables down. Next year, I may do a doozy of a tablescape at the Woman's Club and then a more "refined" one for the Flowercade!!
Hello to all and I hope you are having a great day.
Hugs,
Prissy
Here is another tablescape from Flowercade. This has an outdoor feel to it. I like the colors, but would have added a little bit more to it, had it been mine!

Glory~ If you've got this far with your prep,,don't give up. You'll just have to do it again the next time. Best to get it over with. When I did my prep I was very uncomfortable and felt like I would explore. Believe me you would much rather have the colonoscopy than have the Barium one.
Hopefully you will be able to hang in there..Good luck!

Glory - I am glad you are going ahead with the test - no need to wait another week and worry.
Prissy - glad JoAnn has finally been given a date to go home, and glad you were able to talk to their minister. I think the Flowercade tables are a little "plain" - still pretty, though. Maybe they want the flowers highlighted and not the table items?
Thea - when you do open a can of worms (usually a Styrofoam cup) the cup is usually packed with worms, and if you don't watch, they crawl all over causing problems - bet that is where the saying comes from! Are you still at the doctor's office??
Sharon - got the office closet and most of the office, and the pantry done today. I have the office clean enough to nag Lewis into finishing it - I don't know which of his stacks of papers are urgently "important", so he is on his own now! I hope to be really brave and go into the grandchild room tomorrow - it is the worse room in the house.
Lewis did a great job while I was so sick - did the dishes, laundry, floors, etc., but cleaning a closet would be like speaking a foreign language to him - he just wouldn't understand it. Clutter is his good friend.
Speaking of Lewis, he and the boys have gone to pick up a large real estate sign. I have supper cooked, though, so I have a few quiet minutes. wonder who will go home on DWTS?

Hello lovely Frankie!! I finally got to see all the dances on YOU Tube! I think Gavin or Melissa will go home. Gladys will probably get votes to stay for Motown week! I can't remember a season when there were so many really great partnerings!
Bet the boys were happy to go for a ride with Dad!

Hello, Sharon! I just posted what sounds like a fun recipe to try in the Recipe Thread!
I am surprised that Gavin keeps ending up in the bottom 2 - maybe his fans are too young to watch DWTS!
